Kirito x Reader (SAO)

You were going home from school on a Friday, tired of all the school work.
As you were passing by a store, hundreds of people were lined outside.
You knew what they wanted to buy, Sword Art Online.
You ran home, changed into a blue skirt and white top.
You turned on the television and a lot of reporters were discussing about SAO.
You turned it off, layed down in bed, put on the nervegear and shouted "Link start!"

You chose a pre-made avatar.
You had pink, wavy hair, purple eyes, and a blue katana.
You saw a beautiful scenery, on a wide grassland.
You knew this place for you were a beta tester.
In a while, you realized it was almost time for dinner.
You were about to log out when... you realized it was gone.
Suddenly, a blue light lifted you up and you were teleported to the town of beginnings.
"W-why am I here?" you ask yourself. It was a forced teleportation.
Red warnings surround the place and the gamemaster appears.
He explains it shortly but briefly.
"I am Akihiko Kayaba, the gamemaster of Sword Art Online. I teleported all of you here for a very important announcement. I'm sure most of you noticed that the log out button is missing. It is not a defect, I repeat, it is not a defect. Sword Art Online was created for this purpose. In order to be free, you have to defeat all 100 floors each containing a boss level. Check your inventory, I have a gift for all of you."
You checked your inventory to find... a mirror?
You held it in your hands and it shines a bright light.
You soon realized you had your looks in the real world.
You dropped the mirror. "Why? Why is he doing this?"
"This isn't a game anymore, this is reality. If you die in this game, your avatars will vanish and your nervegear will fry your brains causing you to die. Good luck." and with that, the gamemaster disappeared.
You stand for a while and realized it's no good to stay here.
You were about to run to the next town when you saw a black raven haired boy talking to a red haired guy.
The black haired boy runs and the red haired guy goes back with the crowd.
You just continued to travel to the next town, you know all the shortcuts and safe areas.
As you reached the next town, you went to your peaceful place.
You sat down by the tree and stared at the sky.
You noticed something wasn't right.
A fog slowly surrounds you and your vision was getting blurry.
You saw an orange light a few feet away from you.
"An o-orange player in a safe place?" you thought.
You were about to stand when someone paralyzes you.
"You're actually pretty." a boy appears from the fog.
"Are you sure you want to kill her?" another boy appears.
"Nope, I'll play with her instead." he slowly walks toward you.
You were terrified. You couldn't move.
"Do not go near her." You turned around to see the black raven haired boy.
"I-it's him, he's from the front lines!" one of them says.
With that, they both ran.
"Are you okay?" he asks you.
"H-hai, arigato." you looked at his face, he's actually pretty cute.
He helps you get up on your feet, you blush a little.
"I'm Kirito, you are?"
"I'm _____." you say.
He smiles at you, you blush again and look away.
"Oi, Kirito!" a girl shouts from behind her.
"A-Asuna?" you say in shock.
"H-hai." she looks at you.
"You're from the Knights of the Blood guild." you say.
"H-hai." she says.
"What were you doing here, _____?" Kirito asks you.
"I was just resting." you simply say.
"Be careful next time, mmkay?" he says. You nod.
"Nee, Kirito! Can't we join her in the party?" Asuna asks.
"O-oh, that's right." Kirito opens up the menu and sends you an invitation to join their party.
You gladly accept. "Arigato." you smile.
They smile back at you.
A few days have passed, and you were ready to attack the boss of the first level.
"Let's do our best." Kirito tells you and Asuna.
The both of you nod.

Each party entered the room and readies themselves for the boss fight.
Everybody coordinated well in attacking and soon, the boss only had 1 hp bar left.
He screamed in terror which caused everyone to freeze in their places.
You noticed that no one had the guts to go first, you made a move and attacked first.
"_____! What are you doing?" Asuna shouts.
You smirk. "Watch me."
With those words, you gave your best and attacked with your might.
Kirito and Asuna looks at each other and nods, they also tackled to fight with you.
As the three of you were about to defeat him, you see a hidden attack closing up to Kirito.
"K-KIRITO, LOOK OUT!!" he looks behind him, you sprang into action, and blocked the attack.
And with that, Kirito finishes the remaining life of the boss.
His body disappears slowly.
"We did it!" Asuna shouts, happily.
You looked over to Kirito, he was surprised and gladly accepted the bonus item.
The hall was filled with cheers but then a moment of tragedy came.
"You were a beta tester weren't you?!" someone from the crowd shouts.
"You knew all his attacks and how to defeat him. Why didn't you tell us?!" he shouts once more.
"What are you talking about?" you say, meaning not to be obvious, but failed anyway.
"You're a cheater! A beta tester and a cheater! A BEATER!!" he shouts.
Angrily, you played by the conversation. "A beater, huh? Sounds good to me."
You were starting to walk away when Kirito spoke up.
"You know, she isn't the only 'beater' around here." Kirito smirked.
"Kirito, you too?" Asuna asks. He laughs and walks toward you.
The two of you headed to the exit but Asuna pulls your arms.
"What about me?" Asuna looks at you.
You opened up the menu and disbanded her from the party.
"You're strong, use your strength and don't disappoint your guild." you say and headed out with Kirito.

Time passed by, the lead group has cleared the boss from level 50.
You and Kirito stayed and bought a house in floor 48, Lindas.
"_____, can you cook food? I'm hungry." Kirito puts his hand on his stomach.
You just cook anyways. He has always liked your food.
When you finished, you placed the food on the table and Kirito smiles a bit.
"Itadakimasu!" you shout and the two of you eat food.
"_____, it's so delicious!" Kirito praises you. You smile at him, he smiles back. You stand up.
"I'll be gone for a while, I'm just gonna buy a new sword at Lisbeth's shop." you grab your things.
"Hold on, I'm coming with you." he stands up.
"No, just rest. I'll be fine." you say.
He contradicts and you debate with him for ten minutes but Kirito gives up.
"Fine, be careful. I don't want you to die, I'll starve." he jokes around. You pat his head and went out the door.
You reached Lisbeth's shop and find her forging new swords.
"_____, long time no see. Need a weapon for repair?" she asks.
"Actually, I'm here to buy a new sword. Can you give me one of your best ones?" you ask.
"Let's see..." she  starts looking over the swords behind the counter and picks one and hands it over to you.
"Try this one, it's called the Elucidator." she says.
"Isn't this one of Kirito's previous swords?" you ask.
"Yes, but I boosted up the stats a bit." she explains.
"I'll take it then." you hand over the money to her.
"How's Kirito's Dark Repulser? Lisbeth asks.
"It's still okay." you shrug. "I'll see you around."
You walked home again. As you got home, Kirito is laying down in the sofa.
"I'm back." you look at him.
Kirito stands and walks over to you, his face looks like he's trying to solve something.
"What is it, Kirito?" you ask.
"Sshh..." he puts his hand on your mouth. "You were followed."
With that, you draw out your swords.
Kirito's eyes widen. "A-an orange player." Kirito whispers.
You and Kirito sneakily looked out the window.
"What?". Those faces are familiar.
They were the guys who were hunting you down in Aincrad.
"K-Kirito, they-"
"I know. Don't worry, I'll protect you." he assures you.

You nod at him.
"Wear your invisibility cloak." he whispers.
You do as he says and open up your inventory to wear it.
"Stay here, I'm going out." he says.
He was about to reach the doorknob but you stop him.
"Kirito, no. Don't go out there." you tell him, trying to convince him.
"Don't worry. Stay here and hide." he tells you.
"But I can go out there with you, I don't have to hide. I don't want you to get hurt." you say.
He smiles. "Who says I'm gonna get hurt?"
"B-but Kirito." he lets go of your grip and heads out the door.
Your tears started to fall as you look out the window.
The two orange players slash their swords on Kirito's body but... nothing happens. Kirito laughs.
"You can't defeat me. I have the ability to regain health over time. Your attacks are useless." he says.
The two players tighten their fists. No choice, they ran away again.
Kirito gets back in the house and releases a sigh.
"Are you okay?" you stand up and look at him.
"I'm fine." he smiles.
You smile as well. "Arigato, Kirito."
He pats your head. "No problem."
The two of you sit down at the edge of your bed.
Kirito opens up his inventory and examines his equipments while you stare at the ceiling.
"I may be strong... but sometimes, I'm just so useless." you thought to yourself.
You stare at Kirito as he continuously check his stuff.
You're just so glad you met him. If it wasn't for him, you would've died in Aincrad before.
And even after the incident today, you would've died too.
Kirito closes his inventory and looks at you.
"Huh? Why are you staring at me? Do I have something on my face?" he asks.
"A-ah n-no. Nothing." you say, forgot that you've been staring at him for so long.
You blushed but turn away so he couldn't see.
"N-nee, Kirito. Have you ever liked someone before? What does it feel like?" you ask him nervously.
He looks at you. "No, I don't know. Why?" he asks.
"Nothing." you say. You laid down in bed and accidentally fell asleep.
~The Next Morning~
You opened your eyes and stretched a bit. You rolled over to the other side and saw... KIRITO'S FACE!
"...Aaaah!" you scream.
Kirito woke up with a surprised look on his face.
"What is it, _____?" Kirito asks, yawning.
"I didn't know you were here... sorry."
"That's okay." he says.

~Le Time Skip~
You and Kirito had been training harder this time.
You were much closer too.
Slowly, you've developed feelings for him but you didn't tell him.
You tried your best to keep it a secret and hoped it wasn't obvious.
Both of you were in the 74th floor.
As both of you continued to walk, you noticed a large door. You froze in your place.
"_____, what's wrong?" he looks at you.
"Kirito, isn't that..." you pointed at the door and he also freezes in his place.
"Should we take a look?" you ask.
He nods. "Get ready with a teleport crystal."
You follow his orders and held one in your hand. Kirito does the same.
Both of you slowly opened the large door. It's dark.
"I'll go first." Kirito says.
He walks further but you grab his hand.
"Kirito, don't get too close."
"I won't..."
Suddenly, blue flames appear in the background.
You slowly watched them light up one by one until the room was bright enough.
And right before you, stood a large, blue monster.
"G-Gleam Eyes..." you say.
The blue-eyed demon roars and the both of you started running away.
You grabbed Kirito's hand and activated your sprint skill to dodge some attacks being launched at you.
You continued running while dragging Kirito with you until you reached the exit.
You trembled and fell to your knees, panting.
"Are you okay, Kirito?" you say in between breaths.
"I'm fine. Thanks." Kirito says, panting as hard as you.
Both of you decided to head back home.
You thought of cooking for Kirito as a reward of working hard lately.
"Kirito, I have a reward for you." you smile at him.
"Really? For what?" he asks.
"You're working hard lately. You must be pretty tired." you told him, heading to the kitchen.
"Are you gonna cook?!" he says, shouting excitedly.
You nod at him and he smiles widely.
After a little while, you set the food on the table and Kirito runs to sit down. You sit down as well.
'Itadakimasu!" and you digged in.
"______, you're a really good cook!" Kirito continues eating.
You continue to eat, then someone messages you.
"Eh, Asuna?" you opened the message.
It reads: "______, help! A guild is in danger. They followed you and Kirito around floor 74. Now, they're fighting The Gleam Eyes and they lost their leader. Please, you've got to help them. I'm calling for back-up." you said out loud and Kirito chokes while eating.
"What?! They followed us and they're battling The Gleam Eyes?!" Kirito shouts in shock.
You nod and the both of you teleport to floor 74.
"Why does this have to happen? In the middle of eating delicious food?" Kirito complains. You nudge his arm.
You got there as the whole guild have fainted.
In the corner of your eye, you saw the blue-eyed demon launching an attack to a guild member.
"No... this can't happen." you thought.
"NO!" you brought out your Elucidator and ran towards him.
"STOP IT!" you shout, blocking the strong attack.
"_____!" Kirito shouts.

You tried your best to defend the guild members.
"Get to safety!" you shout. He nods and helps the other members up.
As you glanced over to them, you haven't noticed an attack launched at you.
You scream in pain as you were flying from the ground, thrown 200 meters away from the monster.
"_____!!!" Kirito rushes toward you, you tried to stand but lost conscious.
A few minutes later, you woke up on Kirito's lap.
You rubbed your eyes and saw Kirito, but you remembered about the battle.
You stood without proper timing, and your legs trembled.
"K-Kirito... The Gleam Eyes..." you looked at him.
You stared at him... his health bar is red, he nearly lost his life.
"Y-your health..." you say, started tearing up.
You knew he defeated the monster for you.
He hugs you.
"It's okay, _____." you blush a bit and you hug back.
The both of you hugged in silence.
You pulled away, opened your inventory and handed him a potion.
"Drink it." he takes it from you and drinks it.
"Arigato." he smiles.
Days later, it was February 14.
It had been two years since you were trapped in this virtual world.
You and Kirito headed to a cafe to buy some pastries.
You bought four mini chocolate cakes for Lisbeth, Silica, Asuna, and Klein.
And you bought an Oreo Cheesecake roll for Kirito but you didn't tell it was for him.
You noticed Kirito only buys one cake.
As he payed, you smiled at him.
"What?" he asks.
"It's for Asuna, am I right?"
"Ah, no. It's for Klein." he says.
"Oh, let's go then."
First, both of you went over to Klein's house.
"Happy Valentine's Day, Klein." you and Kirito say in unison, handing over the pastries.
Klein's mouth waters and he smiles. "Arigato!" he accepts them and hands you two something too.
Yours was a strawberry cupcake and Kirito's was vanilla flavored.
The both of you waved goodbye. "Hey, _____. Remember, I'm still single." he winks at you.
You just smile and Kirito frowns.
Next, you went over to Asuna's place. You hand her the gift and she hands something for you and Kirito as well.
Then you went to Lisbeth's then to Silica's place.
After all that, the both of you went home, exhausted.
"Kirito, I have something for you." you pulled out a box from the paper bag and gave it to Kirito.
He smiles and thanks you.
"I have something for you too." he brings out another box for you. Your favorite cake!
The two of you ate in silence, enjoying every bite of the cake.
Few more months passed, you were facing Heathcliff a.k.a. Akihiko Kayaba.
And it has been a month you confessed your feelings to Kirito.
You were actually surprised he liked you back.
You've been dating and decided to get married next next week.
So, you are Kirito's official fiancee.
Everybody from the frontlines attacked with their might.
Every now and then, you'd look over to see if Kirito was fine and he does the same.
From the crowd, you noticed a familiar face.
It was a girl you helped before named Yuka.
She had short pink hair and light green eyes.
You noticed Akihiko's target was Yuka and her hp was draining down slowly.
She tried to defend herself but the attack striked her to her knees.
She was out of conscious and if she gets another hit, she will die...
Akihiko launches an attack...
"YUKA!" you shout, running towards her.

You used your sprint skill and ran towards Yuka.
"YUKA!!!" you continued to shout.
With your sword, you blocked the very strong attack that your swords clashed loudly and shone a bright light.
The light faded, his life is halfway damaged.
